Cartoon brags that the new French mini is blocking the invasion of American computer technology on the French market. The first frame identifies SOLAR as that mini but, in the last frame, admits that the semiconductors came from America! Worse than that. Unknown to the cartoonist, an American designed the architecture of SOLAR and led the development while enjoying a few wonderful years in the French Alps for that purpose. A complete description of SOLAR, crediting me as the designer, appears in the French wikipedia at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_(ordinateur) (My own description appears at: SOLAR) |
